Final VCAT Review for 2025

With VCAT shut from the 25th through to the 4th and much of the profession likewise on holidays over the Christmas/ New Year period, an extra special recap of VCAT decisions in the Planning and Environment List to include not only November but also the first half of December (well up to 12 December). For lovers of stats: 33 decisions were reported in November, with 16 so far in December.

October VCAT Review

The Tribunal cracked an even half-century’s worth of decisions in the Planning and Environment List in October.

September VCAT Review

There were just 36 decisions in the Planning and Environment List at VCAT in September, however they packed a punch.

August VCAT Review

Forty-two decisions were reported from the Planning and Environment List at VCAT in August.

July VCAT Review

There were 41 reported decisions in the Planning and Environment List at VCAT in July including the Red Dot decision of Lambden v Yarra Ranges SC (Red Dot) [2025] which concerned whether an application was a VicSmart application and subsequently what can be sought by way of a Request for Further Information. In simple terms, the Tribunal found that a Request for Further Information can be made in the context of a VicSmart application but the contents of such a Request for Further Information is limited to the information listed under the relevant part of Clause 59.

June VCAT Review
