This development comprises a 6 storey mixed use development with 3 ground floor shops, 48 apartments above and basement level car parking. The development takes advantage of its proximity to educational facilities, shops, public transport and public open space and will provide a benchmark for urban design within the centre. The development closely follows the State Government’s preferences for higher density development within activity centres and indeed Monash City Council’s strategic direction for the future use of the Oakleigh Major Activity Centre. This application was refused by Council in 2010. The decision was later appealed at the Tribunal which decided to overturn the Council’s decision.
